2. I also want a vacant house tax that doubles every year it isn't occupied full-time. It is a moral crime to leave houses empty most of the year while homelessness and shelter poverty exists.
3. This is covered in Lie #2. For those who genuinely don't want to ever buy (even for half their current rent cost), we'd still have tons of hyper-affordable options, just not ones that siphon usury and add to wealth inequality.
4. Human shelter should not be an investment. It is a human right and must be definancialized, otherwise it's just another unsustainable house of cards pyramid scheme that will (and does) cost us our entire lives.
As you can imagine, I have thoughts about robbing the poor via the stock market, too. ;)
