Airbnb works because it is a debt-fueled predator company. I agree that inertia is a powerful force though. But think about it- Airbnb’s model requires growth forever- every house on earth will need to become an Airbnb. Clearly, there will be a breaking point and society will have no choice but to destroy Airbnb before it destroys our cities. Airbnb is mathematically and societally unsustainable.
