I hear you Noel. I just happen to disagree. Russia steals chunks of other countries constantly (Finland, Moldova, Ukraine, etc) and western European nations are rightly afraid of them. So they join NATO. That is their right as sovereign powers. This doesn't give Russia the right to invade. They have the right to defend themselves (not that NATO has ever given serious consideration to invading Russia...)
