If we are serious about affordable shelter for all - and we absolutely should be - then houses should not be investments.

I want a ban on rent-seeking, or to have it taxed out of existence. And a 100% capital gains tax. This would see house prices fall to their true value and houses would be used as homes, not ways to extract wealth from future generations. (The only people who should make money "off" housing are builders and renovators.)

Healthcare should be nationalized, obviously. Assisted living should fall under healthcare and be provided using the Daman Model.

My point is that no one should exploit the poor for any reason, full stop.
