That's definitely the old-fashioned way of thinking, yes. ;)

It's an excellent question, Grant. But the real question is: Is it better to have an ever-ballooning debt crisis, or to have people live debt-free? (The answer is yes. Societies throughout history that banned interest were remarkably stable.)

Another question to ask: Can we create a currency and an economy where people are motivated to lend without interest? (The answer is absolutely yes, and it's hopefully the future we get to enjoy, with no inflation, no interest, and far less debt for all.)
