This is an excellent example of attempted misdirection and conflation of issues. (The article also contains zero citations, which should concern you.) Anyhow, my point here was exactly as written: That no vaccine in history has so much readily available data. Which is verifiably true.
But I’m so glad you share this piece because you point out something extremely important on an entirely different issue: That the commons needs to tax the hyper-rich and invest heavily in properly funding the FDA. (500 pages per day would be great if the total data set was 500 pages, but it’s significantly more, and we need to resource our public services better.)
It also shows that Pfizer/etc need to be nationalized — a “trade secret” is simply a monopoly of life-saving data and should be illegal. Life-saving therapeutics should be commons-funded and public domain in order to save the maximal number of lives.
